Wasn't the consumer carbon tax revenue neutral? Considering it generally reallocated money to lower income people, I wouldn't expect it to make affordability worse.

It was definitely unpopular though, so I'm not surprised it's gone.

Excellent episode. I hope the media starts asking these questions and holding the government to account. They are shutting down the opposition. Time for all media to step up.

People might think it's incidental but biofuel crops take up A LOT of arable land so I disagree that there isn't much governments can do about the cost of groceries. They could phase out biofuel mandates and other incentives that displace food crops and drive deforestation abroad. They are a pseudo-solution for carbon emissions anyways.
